I've heard of that nonsense... Personally I'd take my business elsewhere.

I agree Richard - what a cocksure rule - total bollocks

Well yesterday, really...

Had much amusement when an ex marine couldn't work out how to fit a mag on my Thompson (he said afterwards that he didn't want to force it)...

Then even more so when he couldn't work out how to remove it!

Can you do step-by-step guide please as I too would also like to have a go but being colour blind means the paint work would look pretty shocking

Cheers

Aaargh, bad news - sorry to hear that Lardy. Take the pay and have an Easter break (and treat it as a proper holiday from the job rather than unemployed - there is a difference!).

Crikey! Sorry to hear that, really not the thing anyone of us would want to hear.
What's your line of work? Are there similar companies nearby?

Sorry to hear that, i'm going through the same thing at the moment (restructuring/redundancies etc) so i feel your pain. I work/worked in a niche recruitment agency so i'd be happy to have a look and advise you on a CV etc if you need any help with it :good:

Cheers for the kind words chaps, much appreciated. The thing that pisses me off most is that they dropped this on me out of the blue when I felt I was finally getting my head around the job. No notice, no warning. I come back from holiday and they just drop it on me. My manager who is in China right now didn't even know about it until yesterday!

I think from what I've heard I'm better off out of it though. The knives are out appranetly and I am just the tip of the iceberg (or blade) of cost cutting measures. However, the people I hear to be in next the firing line are those that work the hardest and most hours and in many cases have been there the longest. The whole thing stinks. I guess thats what happens when you get run by a bunch of money grabbing bankers and their bonus hunting cronies.
The worst part is my Dad still works for the same company. He didn't intended to stay much longer as the work load was getting rediculous but now he has decided enough is enough and is looking for an exit asap. I think I've managed to calm him down enough not to tell them to shove it up their arse just yet though.

What's your line of work? Are there similar companies nearby?

I'm a product designer/CAD technician really but have mostly been doing graphical work the past year so I'm kind of a jack of all trades in that area now. The options tend to be limited around here so I'll have to see what happens.

Cheers. I'll have to get it up to date first though, its been a while and I wasn't expecting to need it just yet. :slap:

Not bad at all and passable enough for Italy. Just slap some mud on it to dull down the shine and age the decals a bit. By 1944 a double decal helmet would likley to be showing its age a little.
